Amazon to Open New Fulfillment Centers in Kansas
Expansion to Create Jobs and Support Local Businesses
Kansas City, KS, to Welcome Third Fulfillment Center
Amazon today announced plans to open two new fulfillment centers in Kansas, including one in Kansas City, KS. The new facilities will support Amazon's continued growth and provide additional capacity to meet customer demand in the region.
The fulfillment center in Kansas City, KS, will be the company's third in the metropolitan area, joining existing facilities in Edgerton and near the New Century airport. Amazon also operates a fulfillment center in Lenexa, Kansas.
"We are excited to continue investing in Kansas and creating more opportunities for the local community," said an Amazon spokesperson. "These new fulfillment centers will create hundreds of new, full-time jobs and support the businesses and entrepreneurs who sell on Amazon."
The fulfillment center in Kansas City, KS, will span over 1 million square feet and is expected to create more than 1,000 full-time jobs. The facility will be located at the Scannell 435 Logistics Center in Kansas City, KS. The opening date for the new fulfillment center will be announced at a later time.
